Fungi foray with Neil Mahler
Conditions were perfect. After the great dry spell we'd had a little rain, enough to persuade the fruiting bodies of fungi to blossom, and Neil to arrive on a Wednesday and stay all day, walking us slowly around Kaliwood then down to the Pits. We found a very unusual fungi, observed with the following: is… Continue reading Fungi foray with Neil Mahler
Elders Wellbeing 7 : Oct 27 – inside the Pear Tree and acorns
Rain crashed down, and we were thankful yet again, to have the warmth and security of the Pear Tree as our backup plan. A good few came, including two potential new Elders, and a few surprises. Kally served us her delicious curried parsnip soup. It was Diana's idea. We looked inside an acorn. In between… Continue reading Elders Wellbeing 7 : Oct 27 – inside the Pear Tree and acorns
Elders Wellbeing 5: Oct 13 – more spurtles
A glorious autumn day, we gathered in the wood, and talked of the stories of clothing in anticipation of cold arriving, and the importance of layers. Rachel gave a demonstration of the stories behind her boots (Zachopanie, £130 10 years ago), double layered socks, Revolution Race trousers, and under them, with the memory of ballet… Continue reading Elders Wellbeing 5: Oct 13 – more spurtles
Elders Wellbeing 4 October 7th

Inside the bath bomb we painted with feathers using our home made inks and nearby the fire circle, yarns were naturally dyed to the sound of the woad song. Arms were lifted above heads… Continue reading Elders Wellbeing 4 October 7th
Elders Wellbeing 3 September 29
We each shared a story about the importance of marvellous trees in our lives, climbing inside, being on top, their lovely shapes, silver like a fairy tale, the way they sway, saying hello each time I pass, husband and son making baskets, a funny little car I had all my life, a dibber or a… Continue reading Elders Wellbeing 3 September 29
Elders Wellbing 2 – acorn planting
The day was mellow and acorny. During the circle we asked (whilst passing the ‘talking acorn’ around, instead of stick) what did equinox mean to everyone/ what was their favourite part of this autumnal time of year? This conjured up a lovely selection of thoughts: letting go, space for the new, balance , equal night… Continue reading Elders Wellbing 2 – acorn planting
Elders Wellbeing 1 September
Our first day back, we welcomed new and vintage Elders to the woods. We started our circle by evoking our most tasty seasonal food: Apple crumble with raisons soaked in whisky overnight, Victoria Plums, Rosehip Syrup, Bramley apple pie, Sloe Gin with grated orange, blackberry and apple, apple crumble, Cox apple, pears, apple plum and… Continue reading Elders Wellbeing 1 September
Bikes
Lotti spoke to Jason at Southwold Cycle Hire, who kindly agreed to donate us some bikes. They've been used throughout summer, then upcycled, and include helmets and bike repair kits. Henry delivered, and said he'd help with repairs. Wow. Amazing Henry. Southwold Cycle HIre
