Its all to do with the 23 degree tilt of our earth.
Earth has seasons, so we have solstice, because our planet’s axis of rotation is tilted at an angle of 23.5 degrees relative to our orbital plane, that is, the plane of Earth’s orbit around the sun. The tilt in the axis of the Earth is called its obliquity by scientists. It happened due to intense meteor impacts in the beginning of the Earth’s formation in the last 5 billion years.

At Kinda Forest School, we developed our own solar system, based on the Swedish model, size relative, but distance not relative (Pluto would have been in Southwold). Our Mnemonics (aka Monicas) to help us remember the order:
Mercury Many Mells
Venus Very VW
Earth Educated Engine
Mars Men Might
Jupiter Just Just
Saturn Screwed Stop
Uranus Up Us
Neptune Nature Not
(Pluto) (Perhaps) Parking
A bit about our solar story is here
