I’m Emma (Bumblebee) and I buzzed into Kinda’s inspirational community in October 2022. My qualifications include BA(Hons) in History of Art, a PGCE in Primary Education, a National Award for SEN Coordination and a Forest School OCN Level 3.
I began my career as a picture restorer but it was on a working visit to Italy that I first discovered the wonder and privilege of working with children. For over twenty-eight years, I loved being a primary school teacher particularly in the Early Years where children’s uniqueness, their play and interests, nurtured in an outside environment were at the heart of my practice. Now as a Forest School Leader, I am passionate about the benefits for everyone of being outside connecting with nature and with others. The fun, energy and above all kindness are some of the magic ingredients that I so appreciate at Kinda.
When I am not in the woods you might find me walking my dog with friends, taking part in ‘fire choir’, yoga, running down country lanes or standing at the side of a pitch cheering on the hockey players in my family.
