I am a curious explorer of nature’s art, an Artist and enthusiastic experi-mentor in the whole process of creating, from gathering raw materials to finished Artwork. I adore sculptural freeform crochet and love to exhibit my creations in unusual locations, whether inside or out, from woodland sculpture trails to cathedrals. For the past few years I have been running ‘Spinning colour’ workshops at Wrongs covert for both adults and family groups. I am a member of the Norwich Guild of weavers, spinners and dyers. In 2015 I helped devise and run intergenerational textile and puppet workshops and in the late 90’s I worked as a live in carer supporting elderly people in East Anglia, Essex and a lady in Italy.
Experienced and passionate about facilitating people of all ages to find their uninhibited creative flow, for nearly two decades I have been employed as a part time Arts facilitator with the Artists of a residential community for adults with learning difficulties. Here I became fascinated by the varying nature of communication when I studied signalong to support some of the residents and I realised the importance of nurturing each individual’s connection to nature, to develop mutual respect for selves and space. I am currently studying level 3 forest school, which seemed like a natural progression having worked in seasonal playscheme and festival environments for about 35 years, for Broadland district council, within Norfolk, Suffolk and further afield, such as Sussex, London and Derbyshire. For the past few years I have been assisting at seasonal sessions in a local woodland and at various schools facilitating with forest school and Stone Age history days.
