Rumi 2023
How lucky we are to be together and in this inspiring and welcoming space. Our second time here, once again with glorious light, and finishing with a walk by the sea. Elders 14 – End of term party
What a glorious gathering. Undeterred by Jack Frost, our robust Elders tribe rocked up to the wood, with the Kitchen Band playing funky music in the cabin (to keep their fingers warm). We had the most magical and gratitude giving circle at the beginning and we all took each other home at the end circle.… Continue reading Elders 14 – End of term party
Elder Wellbeing 13 – spoon carving with Jason Parr
Jason Parr came with his pre-cut spoons, axe cut, silver birch, to teach us spoon carving. He came with a collection of spoons he'd made earlier to inspire us: A back of an old chair, large spoon from a Selfish Sycamore, a sexy box spoon, and a brown oak spoon. So it was, on this… Continue reading Elder Wellbeing 13 – spoon carving with Jason Parr
Elder Wellbeing 12 – hazel and French dancing circles
As the leaves began to withdraw their colour, the sap sink into the earth, we created some communal Landart of a golden hazel leaf spiral, their colour was a delight. We wove wreaths, whittled our spurtles some more, drew hip-haw labels, ate parsnip soup, threw pots, listened to a lovely low whistle, played uke, started… Continue reading Elder Wellbeing 12 – hazel and French dancing circles

Elders wellbeing 11 – Nov pottery, wreaths, songs
A natural sense of Community, said one. Our opening circle was dynamic, our movements echoed back by all, from a Japanese Butoh, opening of a flower and smoke head wiggle, to heaven and earth, to a goose side view, to jazz hands, eyebrow massage - it was a great start to the day Roy bought… Continue reading Elders wellbeing 11 – Nov pottery, wreaths, songs

Elders well-being 9 – top of oak, hip and haw, and song
It was the day tree work was being done in the woods, a cherry picker and a climber came to top some of the great oaks that had died. So it was we got to see an oak branch from the very top of the tree - full of story. While a beautiful mouse made… Continue reading Elders well-being 9 – top of oak, hip and haw, and song
Elders Wellbeing 8 : Nov 3rd – sewing in silence
We were welcomed at the Pear Tree once again, as rain slanted down outside. Accommodating the eye testing, cooking for one, and ear testing, we enjoyed a mediating 15 minutes of silence, while we sowed stain glass muslins (leaves in muslin) thanks to Leslie who inspired us with the idea. One had never sown before.… Continue reading Elders Wellbeing 8 : Nov 3rd – sewing in silence
