Education and training Accountant FCA, CTA

As a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor, I work for my own business Headspace Accountancy Ltd, which involves helping small businesses, individuals, social enterprises and charities understand their finances and feel confident and supported in that area. I have been in this profession for over 20 years and find no two days and no two businesses the same. It has given me a great insight into what drives people and what holds people back.

For 8 years I was director of a sustainable construction firm, The Limecrete Company Ltd. I helped to develop modern applications and methods of using limecrete and hempcrete which are now being recognised and adopted as best practice in the industry.

I am involved with a eco-tourism firm, Green Visions doo, based in Bosnia where I lived for three years. In addition to running a successful business our projects focus on assisting local people to build sustainable businesses based on preserving the pristine nature and facilitate cross boarder co-operation on hiking and biking trails.

Volunteering includes acting as treasurer or independent examiner for local charities and formerly as a leader in my local Woodcraft Folk group. I helped to set up and coordinated the fund-raising for Kenninghall Lands Trust which buys farm land, concentrating on linking green corridors, and plants woodland using community work parties.

My two children have shown me of the magic of nature. We love exploring and learning and growing together. I am excited that this project will give families who desperately need it a gateway into this way of experiencing the world and an opportunity to find talents and value in themselves that other methods of education don’t always uncover. I feel my skills are complimentary to the other amazing people involved.
