BA in Music, RHS Advanced Level 2 Diploma in both Garden Planting & Garden Design, and RHS Level 3 Horticulture from Capel Manor Horticultural College. Silver Gilt medal at RHS Hampton Court Flower Show, for a garden I designed and built, and helped build many at RHS Chelsea Flower Show too.
I seek out special places to be, to treasure, to improve and to play in. I’m never happier than under the canopy of a deciduous ancient wood next to a campfire knowing that I have taken care of it in some way. I have found mental and physical well-being from working outdoors, being close to nature, and through learning woodland crafts and bushcraft skills. I love whittling bowls and spoons and green wood furniture making, coppicing, dead hedging, willow weaving, creating living willow sculptures and vegetable growing. I am passionate about helping others take care of their mental health like this too and helping them get the best from their environment.
In the big wide world out there I am a garden designer and make beautiful spaces for people who don’t have a wood to play in.
My son comes to Kali woods and it has nourished him through the difficulties of his little life transitioning from a life in China to primary school and now secondary school. He takes a day out of his school every week to come and spend with Kinda. We have travelled and lived abroad as a family in China, in rural Greece and in Egypt finding ourselves back in Suffolk in 2019. I have volunteered with other woodland conservation charities and mental health and wellbeing provisions for adults and young people.
