Rachel Kellett – Director/facilitator

Education and Training (BEd Drama), Level 2 Forest School

I’ve had a varied career from picture restoration to computer programming and running a 20 engineer support team throughout the UK before returning to my original training as a teacher and teaching for 5 years in a Buddhist school in northern India. (The subject was anything but English and thereby English, and here I developed a Footprint curriculum). I lived 10 years in India and as my partner set up Greenpeace in Delhi, I set up an NGO Toxics Link connecting people over the new internet to share data, before we both co wrote a book on Plastics (Life in Plastic) which influenced Indian government policy. In 2004 I co-wrote a biography of a friend, called Bird of Passage. Returning to the UK I financed the purchase of a village shop in Metfield to save it, and it runs today as a lively village shop.

In June 2014 I bought a 5.5 acre wood at auction, and knew then that I wanted to share it.  The story of the woodland is told here on www.kaliwood.wordpress.com

In 2022 I purchased the land adjacent to the wood, to re-forest and link forming a wild life corridor.

In 2019 I studied Level 2 Forest School which qualifies me to assist and facilitate any Forest School teaching. With a life long interest in philosophy (eventually adding an OU degree element), I also trained to become a Socratic Dialogue facilitator and hold 3-4 Socratic dialogues in the wood annually
